Every year, Al-Faisal College celebrates distinguished achievement of its students. This year there were 68 distinguished achievers and as a result each student was given a cheque for $500 for every subject where they scored an ATAR of 90 or above.
Also, most of our students and their parents were invited to attend dinners held by major community organisations to celebrate their distinguished achievements. Valuable gifts and prizes were given to the students.
Al-Faisal College high achievers ceremony
In the last few years, Al-Faisal College has seen a dramatic improvement in NAPLAN results across the year 3, 5, 7 and 9 in both literacy and numeracy.
Al-Faisal College students performed above the State average in most areas.
When compared to the State, Year 9 students received pleasing Band results in all aspects of the test but particularly in ‘Numeracy’.
Also, our Year 3 students achieved great results in all areas of NAPLAN assessed. Our Year 3 cohort achieved at or above the Year 5 National Average in Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Writing!
Overall, the 2016 results are very pleasing and they indicate improvement in all areas, most notably in Reading and Numeracy, however they also indicate a number of areas to target our focus.
Every year, the school analyses these results in detail and carries out planning programs for the next year. Results analysis helps the school identify and target areas of study in need of improvement and students in need of extra assistance. Our aim is to keep working towards creating the best possible learning environment for the students of Al-Faisal College.
